What's up gamers?
I study anthropology and made this site to organize my online activities and media consumption more healthily.

Some of my favourite movies:
- The Lord of the Rings (it's only 1, I promise)
- Stalker

Games I Played for the First Time This Year:
Ladykiller In a Bind:
- I impulse bought this after Dan Olson mentioned it in some video (I'll link it later when I remember which one) and thought that it looked interesting; I connected to this game immediately and strongly. The central conceit that you're a girl pretending to
be her identical twin brother rang true with me not only as an experience I go through any time I come across someone unaware of my transition or even my name change, but whenever your character has to try and explain the often immoral acts of the brother. I
tell myself that my transition has only made me kinder and more understanding but the ease of mistakes or misinterpretations made me genuinely sorry for the people who I - and the brother - have hurt. Simultaneously, the plot around the staged abduction and
the whole point accumulation game was of little interest to me. I gave up on winning the game as soon as I became attached to the nerd characters and couldn't bear to betray their trust. Perhaps in a replay I could eschew my own morals if only to explore the
game more fully but for now I don't have the heart. I loved how in many ways the game is simply a rework of Metal Gear with a social stealth aspect replacing the action stealth of that series. In my playthough my character was more or less Solid Snake while
the Hacker clearly parallels Otacon especially with her having been the romantic interest in my playthough. Maybe the rest of the characters don't map so neatly across games but at the very least the father still represents Naked Snake and in doing so
satisfies my bar for being allegorical. Aside from the high concept story, the plot itself is most notable for the sex scenes. Going along with the premise that all power exchange must be negotiated, I found the game a great way to relate more to my boyfriend
who's taken the mantle of the reluctant dom during our time together. Being with the Hacker was far outside my comfort zone with my genuine temperament being similar to her own and it led me to be a lot less demanding with my boyfriend. The art both in general
and in the sex scenes was less impressive than simply sweet and the only time I felt myself stirring was the one night where I stayed with the Beauty, no big surprise. I won't pretend for even a moment that porn isn't the main selling point of the game but it
was everything else that made me love the game. All in all I would affectionatelly call Ladykiller In a Bind a respectable porn game.
